My Background

I have been working on my own personal development for many years, particularly since I was diagnosed with cancer in 1994.    As part of my own recovery I compiled a book of women’s stories:  ’Flying in the Face of Fear – surviving cervical cancer.’ I have since published two more books.

I have since worked to help all patients be heard, with Cornwall Community Health Council (until the abolition of the CHCs in 2003), and in voluntary work with Cancerbackup and Macmillan Cancer Support.  I have run personal development workshops for adult education, and worked with cancer patients and health professionals on ‘writing our stories’.

I have also worked as a volunteer business mentor for the Prince’s Trust and with local organisations as a business advisor, coach and trainer, helping people who want to become self-employed. I discovered Life Coaching in 2001 and established Dare to Blossom in 2003.
